All of us from time to time find ourselves negotiating with others. Developing effective negotiation skills can benefit both our personal and professional lives. The Intelligent Negotiation course module provides students with tools to enhance their abilities to negotiate in order to obtain better outcomes. Intelligent negotiation first introduces students to concepts with the distributive approach to negotiations. The course module then focuses an interest-based approach to negotiations. This approach is particularly compatible with the Smart Talk model. Interest-based negotiations seek to achieve win-win results that allow us to achieve our goals while maintaining positive rapport. The Intelligent Negotiation course module includes multiple opportunities for students to practice both distributive and interest-based negotiation approaches.
